To reduce the frequency of trash pick up,
compaction is the answer. Generally, a 4:1 volume reduction is experienced
although this will vary with waste stream contents. Designs vary from vertical
to horizontal self-contained and stationary to suit volume, contents,
environment and locally available scavenger service capabilities.

SELF-CONTAINED COMPACTORS
are used for higher volume applications where local roll off service is
available. The design consists of an integrated compactor and container with the
primary purpose of handling wet waste such as that experienced in restaurant and
grocery store environments. Typical sizes include 17, 20, 28 & 35 cubic yard.
